Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
Location: Rhoose, Wales, UK
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people's lives? A leading specialist provider is seeking dedicated Young Persons Support Workers to join their team in Rhoose. This role offers an engaging opportunity to support children and young people facing challenges such as homelessness, mental health issues, trauma, and substance misuse. Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
- Promote independence and wellbeing of young clients
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips to support the children’s development and enjoyment
- Participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or weekends at holiday parks
- Protect children and young people from health and safety risks
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
- Support behaviour management and minimise challenging incidents
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Restraint training certification (TMVA) or willingness to undertake a 3-day course
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
