Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Children Residential Services)

Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay

Job Description:
Do you want to enable children and young people who have been taken into care to have the best possible start in life? As a Children’s Support Worker in Porth, you’ll work 2:1 with other staff and support children in their homes, helping them build independence, wellbeing, and safe, positive routines. This Children’s Support Worker role in Porth offers excellent rates of pay and weekly pay, with a supportive team around you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Porth
  • Promote independence and wellbeing, ensuring each young person’s needs are met
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children as part of the Children’s Support Worker role in Porth
  • Support weekend and evening activities, from community outings to in-home activities
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
  • Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
  • Restraint training: Restraint Trained, or willing to undergo the 3-day course (TMVA/PMVA/PBM)
  • Valid UK driving licence (required)
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
