Key Responsibilities
As a Children's Support Worker based in Pontypridd, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting children and young people with their day-to-day activities and interests
- Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care plans
- Attending weekends away, holidays, and trips to provide consistent support
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by adhering to care guidelines
- Providing emotional and practical support to help children overcome challenges
- Assisting with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
- Participating in activities such as outings, sports, and social events to enrich the children's experiences
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or within a social care setting
- Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People
- A valid UK Driving Licence
- An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Restraint training (TMVA) certification or willingness to undertake a 3-day restraint training course
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
