About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and young people to reach their full potential. Your duties will include fostering a safe environment, building trusting relationships, and assisting young people with daily routines and development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote the rights, wellbeing, and safety of children and young people
- Provide compassionate care in line with organisation policies and procedures
- Create a homely, supportive environment for children to thrive
- Support young people in developing their strengths and overcoming challenges
- Build positive relationships based on trust and respect
- Assist in the creation and review of individual care plans
- Organise and participate in activities, outings, and group holidays
- Support with daily tasks such as meal preparation and personal care
- Encourage educational, vocational, and life skills development
- Observe, assess, and report on behaviour and progress
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Uphold safeguarding policies and maintain confidentiality
Key Requirements:
- Genuine passion for supporting children and young people
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and welfare promotion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to undertake training and professional development
- Strong organisational skills, including report writing and record keeping
