Job Title: Children's Support Worker – Porth, Bridgend
Location: Porth, Bridgend, Wales
Salary: £14.50 - £29 per hour (DOE)
Job Description:

A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker to join their team in Porth on a temp-to-perm basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity to start or develop a rewarding career in social care, with the potential for permanent employment for the right candidate. Working in various social care and healthcare settings, you will support children and young people in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people in all daily activities and interests
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
- Support, encourage, and promote the independence and wellbeing of young people
- Attend weekend and evening activities to support children’s interests, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
- Support children in participating in social activities and outings
- Promote a safe environment and protect children from risks to their health and welfare
Requirements:
- A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- TMVA – Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to undertake a 3-day course)
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
