Job Description
A Computer Science Teacher is required for a full-time role in Caerphilly, Wales, joining a secondary school supporting learners across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE classes. This is an immediate start opportunity for an experienced teacher who can contribute from day one within a supportive school team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Computer Science Teacher based in Caerphilly, your daily duties will include:
- Delivering engaging Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE groups
- Planning lessons and schemes of work where required, aligned to the national curriculum
- Using a mix of classroom and ICT/lab-based activities to support different learning styles
- Managing behaviour consistently in line with the school’s policies and expectations
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Computer Science Teacher, you will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an overseas equivalent
- At least 1 year of Computer Science teaching experience (exceptions may be considered for NQTs)
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration (support available)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- References covering the last two years (with no gaps)
