Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join our team in Liverpool.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a thriving special school committed to delivering inclusive and personalised education for pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will supervise classes during short-term absences, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cover Supervisor based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:
- Supervising whole classes undertaking pre-prepared activities during teacher absences, maintaining a safe, orderly, and purposeful environment.
- Supporting pupils with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and complex learning difficulties, by adapting communication and instructions accordingly.
- Assisting with behaviour management using positive, de-escalation, and restorative approaches.
- Supporting individual pupils and small groups with their learning, communication, and personal development under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Contributing to the overall wellbeing and inclusion of pupils, fostering positive relationships and supporting their emotional needs.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Cover Supervisor at Liverpool, you will need:
- A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a SEND environment.
- A proactive approach to safeguarding and behaviour management.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS check.
