Our department is actively seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a School located in Southport. 

Location: Southport, Lancashire
Job Type: Full-time, part time Monday to Friday
Pay: Up to £140 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classroom activities and deliver pre-set lesson plans in the absence of teaching staff. You will help ensure that learners remain engaged, focused, and supported—working closely with the college’s teaching team, support staff, and therapists.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in education or care who are looking to develop their skills in a rewarding SEN setting.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational or SEN environment

  • Strong behaviour management and classroom leadership skills

  • Understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated needs

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a dynamic learning environment

  • Willingness to assist with personal care (if required)

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Duties Will Include:

  • Delivering set work in the absence of the class teacher

  • Managing the classroom environment to ensure students remain on task

  • Promoting independence and engagement in learning activities

  • Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs

  • Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and the therapeutic team

  • Ensuring safeguarding and well-being protocols are followed

  • Reporting back to teaching staff on progress, concerns, and incidents
