Job Title: Registered Manager – Residential Care for Profoundly Deaf Adults

Are you an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager seeking a rewarding opportunity in Tiverton? Our client, a leading specialist provider, is looking for a dedicated professional to oversee a 5-bed residential home for profoundly deaf adults. This role offers a unique chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who rely on British Sign Language (BSL) and visual communication methods. As the Registered Manager, you will lead a committed team, ensuring the highest standards of care and support in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalised care plans that address the holistic needs of residents, including care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health aspects.
- Recruit, induct, and develop a stable, skilled team, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Establish systems that empower residents to have a voice in their care through regular consultation and feedback.
- Ensure all care practices meet CQC fundamental standards and align with the home's Statement of Purpose.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding, addressing concerns, and managing complaints effectively.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to promote residents’ welfare.
- Manage the home’s budget efficiently, ensuring financial sustainability while maintaining high-quality care.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential for effective communication within the home.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential care for adults or young people, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 qualification in Children’s or Adults’ Residential Care is required; Level 5 in Leadership and Management is preferred or a commitment to enrol within 6 months.
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, adult legislation, and care standards.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and team leadership skills.
- Confident communicator, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of managing challenging behaviour and supporting individuals with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Full UK driving licence is required.
- A genuine passion for supporting profoundly deaf adults and improving their quality of life.
