Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy Manager to join our dedicated children's residential home in Hythe. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week, including alternate weekends, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

You will play a vital role in upholding the rights and welfare of young people, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Salary: £33,280.00 – £39,520.00 per year.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safeguarding: Ensure all issues relating to the safeguarding of vulnerable children are reported according to strict policies and procedures.

  • Young Person Advocacy: Uphold and promote the rights of young people in accordance with the principles of choice, respect, dignity, and privacy.

  • Key Work & Reporting: Conduct formal key work sessions with allocated young people and produce detailed reports for each session.

  • Compliance: Maintain all records in accordance with company policies and ensure a clear understanding of Ofsted Regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Service Quality: Promote young people's involvement in all areas, including service delivery and quality assurance.

  • Communication: Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with internal colleagues, external bodies, and the Service Manager regarding any significant changes in young people's needs.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualification: NVQ Qualified (Minimum Level 3) in a social care related subject.

  • Experience: 2 years of experience working within Children's Residential Care.

  • Knowledge: Proven understanding of OFSTED Regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Insight: Able to demonstrate an understanding of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties and their impact on the lives of young people.
