Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Home (Abergavenny)

Are you a Senior Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a children's residential home in the Tonyrefail area. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and make a real impact on young lives.

Salary: £29,800 - £39,800 per annum

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides a safe and nurturing environment for young people. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing strong professional leadership to the team.

• Assisting with the day-to-day management of the home's financial systems and ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements.

• Helping to plan and organise staff training programs.

• Assisting in the recruitment and selection of staff.

• Ensuring the home's practices are in line with the company's child protection procedures.

• Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota to provide support in emergency situations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working with children and young people in a residential setting within the last 10 years, with at least two years at a supervisory level.

• Qualifications: You should ideally hold a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Children and Young Peoples Residential Management) Wales, or equivalent qualifications such as the NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and NVQ Level 4 in Management.

• Professional Requirements: You must be registered with the Care Council for Wales and CSSIW as a registered manager.
