Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of children's services in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers the chance to work within a supportive environment, helping vulnerable children and young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills. The Deputy Manager will play a key role in leading a residential team, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships with children and young people to promote their independence and wellbeing
- Lead and support staff shifts, including conducting supervisions and appraisals
- Support the Registered Manager with audits, compliance, and administrative duties
- Contribute to the maintenance and safety of the home, including cooking and cleaning as needed
- Accurately document and maintain up-to-date records
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are strictly followed
- Promote a safe, supportive environment for children and young people in the residential setting
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to support children’s needs
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare
- Willingness to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory and shift-leading experience in a children’s residential setting
- Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and standards for children’s homes
- Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people
