As a Senior Supervising Social Worker with deputy leadership responsibilities, you will play a key role in shaping a new, forward-thinking service. This part-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to influence practice standards and contribute to a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputising for the Registered Manager: Act as the operational lead in their absence, ensuring compliance with legislation and fostering standards.
- Complex Caseload Management: Provide high-quality supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Support and develop team members, fostering a culture of best practice.
- Compliance & Administration: Lead in scheduling assessments, reviews, training, and ensure statutory notifications are completed accurately and on time.
- Assessment & Training: Conduct Form F assessments, participate in fostering panels, and develop/deliver training tailored to foster carers.
- Safeguarding Leadership: Champion safeguarding initiatives, leading on complex safeguarding issues involving children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications & Registration: Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in a fostering setting (IFA or Local Authority), within the last 5 years.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in a senior or deputising role, with strong operational management capabilities.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fostering legislation, regulations, and the Fostering National Minimum Standards.
- Administration Skills: Exceptional ability to coordinate, schedule, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

- Desirable: Experience using CHARMS case management system and direct involvement with Ofsted inspections.
