Deputy Manager – Children’s Home | Barry
Salary: £36,120 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential Home in Barry, working for a not-for-profit provider committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care. This is a Monday–Friday, office-hours role, offering an excellent work-life balance and long-term career stability.
This position is open to experienced Senior Residential Support Workers who are ready to take the next step into management, as well as existing Deputy Managers.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the children’s home, helping to maintain high standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding while supporting and developing the staff team.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Registered Manager with operational leadership of the home

Help supervise, mentor, and develop residential support staff

Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and quality standards are met

Contribute to care planning, risk management, and positive outcomes for children

Build strong relationships with professionals, families, and external agencies
Requirements

Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People (CYP)

Experience in a children’s residential setting

Senior Residential Support Workers encouraged to apply

Full UK driving licence (essential)

Strong safeguarding knowledge and leadership potential
