Salary: £33,665 - £34,881 per annum (DOE) plus sleep-in payments
Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Deputy Home Manager or a motivated Senior Support Worker to join a leading specialist provider in the opening of a new children's residential home in Stevenage. This role offers a unique chance to be part of a founding leadership team, contributing to the development of a bespoke therapeutic service designed to support children and staff alike. The Deputy Home Manager will play a vital role in shaping the home's culture, ensuring high standards of care, and supporting the operational management of the service. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the children's residential home in Stevenage.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a therapeutic model of care aligned with the "language that cares" philosophy.
- Mentor, support, and develop the staff team to ensure a high standard of care and professional growth.
- Assist with operational tasks including managing budgets, staff rotas, and ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations.
- Support service development initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided to children.
- Take on additional management responsibilities to prepare for future leadership roles, including managing the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a Residential Children’s home, ideally at a Senior or Deputy level.
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
- Practical experience managing budgets and staff rotas.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
- Passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting children’s development.
