Salary: £19.75 per hour (+ £70.50 sleep-in rate per night)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week; weekends, sleep-ins and shift work)
Job Description
Deputy Children’s Home Manager opportunities are available in Harrow, Greater London, supporting young people in a safe, stable and nurturing residential setting. Working on-site, you’ll help lead a dedicated team focused on positive outcomes, safeguarding and high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Deputy Children’s Home Manager based in Harrow, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the children’s home
- Leading, supporting and supervising staff teams to maintain consistent, child-focused care
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards, including safer recruitment practices
- Promoting a safe, structured and trauma-informed environment that supports development and wellbeing
- Contributing to care planning, progress tracking and positive outcomes for young people
- Deputising in the absence of the Registered Manager within the Harrow residential service
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Deputy Children’s Home Manager, you will need:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
- At least 1 year’s experience supervising staff
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted requirements
- Level 5 Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
- Enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks (including references and, where applicable, international equivalents)
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
