Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our OFSTED-registered Children’s Home in Hove. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Registered Manager, supporting children to lead meaningful and happy lives within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in the leadership team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care tailored to each child's physical, mental, and social needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager based in Hove, your daily duties will include:
- Providing managerial leadership to the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Assessing, planning, and reviewing the needs of the children to ensure personalised care.
- Undertaking specialist assessments, care planning, and evaluating service user needs.
- Facilitating and attending meetings and appointments for all children.
- Managing and updating service user files, including risk assessments, care plans, and education records.
- Supervising and managing the daily workload of staff within the home.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of team staff.
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed and maintained.
- Planning activities and enhancing the children’s overall experience.
- Supporting children’s appointments and safeguarding issues, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring the home adheres to all legal and statutory requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager, you will need:
- Relevant health or social care qualification (NVQ Level 4 or 5 or equivalent).
- Proven management experience within a registered children’s home environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and ability to address safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- IT proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to support children’s activities and appointments.
