Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Home Manager to join our welcoming team in Woolston, Southampton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a children’s home specialising in caring for children and young people with learning and physical disabilities. As part of a regional network of nine homes, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing environment where independence, dignity, and the voices of young people are valued.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Home Manager based in Woolston, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the children’s home, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
- Leading and motivating a team of staff to deliver person-centred care tailored to the needs of children aged 8-18.
- Promoting positive behaviour support and reducing restrictive practices within the home.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of individual care plans, fostering independence and dignity for young people.
- Assisting in staff supervision, training, and development to ensure a motivated and skilled team.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Home Manager, you will need:
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a residential children’s home, ideally at senior or deputy level.
- Knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience managing budgets and staff rotas.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
