Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at a newly established OFSTED-registered Children’s Home in Crawley. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Registered Manager, supporting children to lead meaningful and happy lives within a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support for our children.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager based in Crawley, your daily duties will include:
- Providing managerial leadership to the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Assessing, planning, and reviewing the needs of the children to ensure personalised care.
- Undertaking specialist assessments, care planning, and evaluating service user needs.
- Facilitating and attending meetings and appointments for all children.
- Managing and updating service user files, including risk assessments, care plans, and education records.
- Supervising and managing the daily workload of staff within the home.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, supervision, and development of team members.
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed and maintained.
- Planning activities and enhancing the children’s overall experience.
- Addressing safeguarding issues promptly and appropriately.
- Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring compliance with OFSTED standards and legislation.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager, you will need:
- Relevant health or social care qualification (NVQ Level 4 or 5, or equivalent).
- Proven management experience within a registered children’s home environment.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Experience in supervising and supporting staff, with strong leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legal requirements.
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to support children’s appointments and activities.
