Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading children’s residential care organisation based in Crediton, Devon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a team in providing high-quality care within a nurturing environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager in Crediton, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and managing daily shifts, ensuring care staff understand their responsibilities and deliver person-centred care.
- Overseeing medication administration, staff supervision, and induction of new team members.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence, maintaining smooth operational management.
- Developing and implementing personalised care plans aligned with each child's needs and safeguarding policies.
- Supporting educational and recreational activities to promote development and social inclusion.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory safeguarding procedures, OFSTED regulations, and organisational policies.
- Supervising Senior Care Workers, conducting staff appraisals, and managing rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager in Crediton, you will need:
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children in residential care or a related setting.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements, safeguarding procedures, and OFSTED standards.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience supervising care staff.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence.
