Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to join our Ofsted-registered Children's Residential Home in Hove. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Registered Manager, supporting the delivery of high-quality care for children and young people. You will be a vital part of the leadership team, helping to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive and lead fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager in Hove, your daily duties will include:
- Providing managerial leadership to the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Assessing, planning, and reviewing the needs of children to ensure personalised care.
- Undertaking specialist assessments, care planning, and evaluating service user needs.
- Facilitating and attending meetings and appointments for children.
- Managing and updating service user files, including risk assessments, care plans, and education records.
- Supervising and managing the care team, including recruitment, supervision, coaching, and training.
- Supporting new staff with comprehensive induction and ongoing development.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are maintained within the home.
- Planning activities and supporting children’s appointments to enhance their experiences.
- Addressing safeguarding issues promptly and effectively.
- Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring compliance with legal and statutory requirements, including OFSTED standards.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager, you will need:
- Relevant health or social care qualification (NVQ Level 4 or 5).
- Proven management experience within a registered children’s home environment.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and professionals.
- Experience in supervising staff and managing resources efficiently.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation.
- IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- A full Enhanced DBS Check.
