Job Title: Deputy Manager – Supported Accommodation
Location: Newport, South Wales
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading provider of supported accommodation services in Newport. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team and ensure the delivery of high-quality care for children and young people in line with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment that promotes independence and well-being for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the staff team to deliver exceptional care and support to young people.
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager in managing the service, ensuring compliance with CIW or Ofsted regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with external agencies, including social workers and local authorities.
- Attend and chair staff, children’s, and agency meetings, including care planning and reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for young people.
- Support the development and implementation of individual care plans and activities.
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and monitor service standards.
- Support staff recruitment, supervision, and training to ensure a competent and motivated team.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, GDPR, health and safety, and safeguarding policies.
- Assist with service tenders and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working within children’s services, with at least two years in a residential leadership role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of CIW or Ofsted regulations and standards.
- Level 3 Diploma or equivalent; working towards Level 5 Diploma within two years.
- A full driving licence is essential.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with external agencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
