Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 08:00–18:00)

Job Description

We are recruiting a Deputy Manager – 16+ Supported Accommodation to join a supportive, values-led service in Newport, South Wales. This role focuses on helping young people in care and care leavers build independence through safe, consistent, high-quality support.

Working alongside senior leadership, you’ll help maintain strong standards aligned to relevant regulations and create an environment where young people feel healthy and heard, active and achieving, responsible and respected, safe and self-reliant.

Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Manager – 16+ Supported Accommodation based in Newport, your daily duties will include:

  • Leading and supporting staff teams to deliver safe, consistent care and positive outcomes for young people
  • Co-ordinating multi-agency working with local authorities, commissioners, social workers, safeguarding partners and other stakeholders in Newport
  • Driving compliance and quality assurance, including record-keeping, safeguarding practice, training matrices, and service standards aligned to CIW/Ofsted expectations
  • Supporting recruitment and safer recruitment processes, including supervision, appraisals, and addressing performance concerns
  • Promoting a positive culture of openness, honesty and continuous improvement, ensuring safeguarding underpins every decision

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful as a Deputy Manager – 16+ Supported Accommodation, you will need:

  • Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant area (essential)
  • Commitment to achieve the Level 5 Diploma within 2 years (required)
  • At least 2 years’ leadership experience managing teams within children’s residential services
  • Strong working knowledge of CIW or Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation/standards
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
