Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Care Manager to join our children’s home in Tonyrefail, Rhondda Cynon Taf. This role offers a flexible Monday to Friday schedule, supporting up to four young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in a homely, semi-rural environment. Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Care Manager based in Tonyrefail, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational policies.
- Deputising in the manager’s absence and supporting staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to the needs of young people.
- Promoting a safe, nurturing environment where young people feel secure and supported.
- Supporting staff training and development to maintain high standards of care.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Care Manager, you will need:
- Essential Qualification: QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Required Experience: Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Shift Leader within a residential setting.
- Mandatory Compliance: Full UK manual driving licence.
- Additional Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm under pressure, basic IT skills, and flexibility in working hours.
- Desirable: Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care, registration with Social Care Wales, experience working with children, and Welsh language skills.
