Job Description
The Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Services role in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire supports the Registered Manager to deliver a safe, consistent and nurturing home for young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. This is a hands-on leadership position within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment focused on safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
As a Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Services based in Abergavenny, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager to lead, motivate and develop a stable residential care team in Abergavenny
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, care planning, recording and compliance, ensuring young people are kept safe and their voices are heard
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to deliver consistent, child-centred support and positive routines
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Services, you will need:
- QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People (or equivalent) – essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within children’s residential care – essential
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior, or Team Leader in a children’s residential setting – essential
- Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (remote location) – essential
- Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check and checks relating to Regulated Activity (including barred children’s list)
