We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager (Children & Young People) to join a reputable provider of residential services in Abertillery, Wales. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team in delivering high-quality, child-centred care within a supportive and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the home and the well-being of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager (Children & Young People) based in Abertillery, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager in the operational management of the residential home, ensuring high standards of care.
- Deputising for the Registered Manager when required, including participating in an out-of-hours ‘On-Call’ rota.
- Leading and motivating staff to deliver emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, and a comfortable home environment.
- Promoting team development through mentoring, supervision, and fostering effective teamwork.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards for children’s residential services in Wales.
- Managing budgets, control systems, and administrative records in line with organisational policies.
- Driving continuous improvement in service quality and outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager (Children & Young People), you will need:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a senior or team-leading role within a children’s residential setting.
- Ideally hold QCF Level 4 in Children and Young People or be working towards it.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage a residential environment effectively.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and a Full UK Driving Licence.
