Job Title: Deputy Care Manager - Children's Residential Services 

Location: Bridgend, Wales

Salary: £33,960.60 per annum + additional payments for sleep-ins and overtime hours

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Care Manager to join our children’s home in Bridgend. This role offers a flexible work schedule, primarily Monday to Friday, supporting up to four young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Care Manager based in Bridgend, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting the registered manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational policies
• Deputising in the manager’s absence and supporting staff to deliver high-quality care
• Building strong relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies to promote a nurturing environment
• Contributing to the development and implementation of care plans tailored to individual needs
• Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed and risk assessments are up to date

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Care Manager, you will need:

• Essential QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
• Previous experience as a Deputy Manager or Shift Leader within a residential setting
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Minimum age of 22
• Passion for making a difference and strong communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure
• Basic IT skills and flexibility in working hours
• Knowledge of statutory requirements, health & safety, and risk assessments
• Desirable: Level 4 qualification in Health & Social Care, registration with Social Care Wales, experience working with children, or Welsh speaker
