Salary: £38,000 per year (DOE) | Overtime paid at time and a half | Realistic earning potential up to £45,000
Job Description:
Are you an experienced children’s residential care professional seeking a rewarding leadership role? A leading specialist provider is looking for a dedicated Children’s Home Deputy Manager to join their well-established residential children’s home in Carmarthen. As the Children’s Home Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations, leading a committed staff team, and ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people in Carmarthen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the children’s home in Carmarthen
- Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver high standards of care
- Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and regulatory standards are maintained
- Maintain a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment for children and young people in Carmarthen
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals
- Oversee care plans, audits, and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing cover
Requirements:
- Proven experience within a children’s residential home setting in Carmarthen or similar
- Demonstrable leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards)
- Passion for supporting children and young people in Carmarthen
