Children’s Home Deputy Manager – Carmarthen

Salary: £38,000 per year
Overtime: Paid at time and a half – realistic earning potential up to £45,000
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
Location: Carmarthen

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, experienced Children’s Home Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team at a well-established residential children’s home in Carmarthen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in leading the staff team, supporting the Registered Manager, and ensuring the home provides a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for the children and young people in our care.

What We Offer

  • £38,000 annual salary
     

  • Overtime paid at time and a half
     

  • Earning potential up to £45,000 with additional overtime
     

  • Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (rare for residential roles!)

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home
     

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team
     

  • Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance
     

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment
     

  • Work closely with external agencies, families, and professionals
     

  • Oversee care plans, audits, and quality assurance
     

  • Contribute to staff rotas and ensure adequate cover
     

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience within a children’s residential home
     

  • A proven ability to lead or supervise a team
     

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
     

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
     

  • A Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards)
