Job Description:
Are you an experienced children’s residential care professional seeking a leadership role in Carmarthen? Our client, a leading specialist provider, is looking for a dedicated Children’s Home Deputy Manager to join their well-established team. As the Children’s Home Deputy Manager in Carmarthen, you will support the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations, leading a committed staff team, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the children’s home in Carmarthen
- Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team to deliver high standards of care
- Ensure safeguarding, compliance, and regulatory standards are maintained
- Maintain a safe, positive, and therapeutic environment for children and young people
- Work collaboratively with external agencies, families, and professionals
- Oversee care plans, audits, and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing cover
Requirements:
- Experience working within a children’s residential home, preferably in Carmarthen or the surrounding area
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a care setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Level 3 Children & Young People qualification (Level 5 preferred or willingness to work towards)
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, with occasional overtime
