Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Support | Care & Support | EBD | Permanent Role

Location: Manchester

Salary: £30,000 - £33,200 per year (£14.99 per hour)

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a welcoming residential home in Wigan.

Key Responsibilities:

• Foster a warm, positive environment by engaging children in activities, hobbies, and educational pursuits

• Build trusting relationships with children, their families, and other professionals

• Support the development of independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organisation

• Assist with implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

• Promote social, emotional, and physical development

• Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents

• Collaborate and effectively manage your team members to ensure high-quality care

• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

• Support the Registered Manager with the running of the home

Ideal Candidates Will Be:

• Compassionate, empathetic, and caring towards children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties 

• Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations

• Enthusiastic, creative, and proactive in engaging children through activities

• Reliable, responsible, and committed to delivering consistent care

• Excellent communicators, able to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues

• Flexible, willing to work a rota including sleep-ins (fully paid)

Essential Requirements:

• Experience working in residential support work in a senior capacity (Team Leader / Senior Support Worker)

• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent

• 2 plus years of experience with children or young people in residential or care settings

• Understanding of safeguarding principles and child welfare

• Basic IT skills for record keeping

• Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Full UK Driving Licence (due to activity locations)
