We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a welcoming residential home in Wigan.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Foster a warm, positive environment by engaging children in activities, hobbies, and educational pursuits

Build trusting relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
-
Support the development of independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organisation
-
Assist with implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

Promote social, emotional, and physical development

Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents

Collaborate and effectively manage your team members to ensure high-quality care

Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Support the Registered Manager with the running of the home
Ideal Candidates Will Be:

Compassionate, empathetic, and caring towards children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties

Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations

Enthusiastic, creative, and proactive in engaging children through activities

Reliable, responsible, and committed to delivering consistent care

Excellent communicators, able to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues

Flexible, willing to work a rota including sleep-ins (fully paid)
Essential Requirements:
-
Experience working in residential support work in a senior capacity (Team Leader / Senior Support Worker)

NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
-
2 plus years of experience with children or young people in residential or care settings
-
Understanding of safeguarding principles and child welfare
-
Basic IT skills for record keeping

Right to work in the UK
Desirable:

Full UK Driving Licence (due to activity locations)
