We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join a leading specialist provider in residential care. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead with empathy, develop innovative solutions, and ensure high standards of care within a dynamic environment. As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to uphold quality standards, support staff, and create a safe, nurturing space for young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of high-quality care in line with Ofsted standards and company policies
- Lead shifts confidently, ensuring the safety and well-being of young people and staff
- Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each young person's needs
- Conduct staff supervisions, promote best practices, and foster team development
- Manage administrative duties, including documentation and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Foster positive team morale and encourage reflective practice
- Collaborate with local authorities, therapy, and education services to support young people's progress
- Address staff conduct and promote continuous professional growth
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, ensuring a solution-focused approach
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a residential care setting with young people, including supervisory responsibilities
- Level 3 or 4 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- A clear DBS check (please inform us if on the update service)
- Strong teamwork skills and resilience under pressure
- Flexibility to work changing shift patterns
- Desirable: Driving license (or working towards one), emotional and social intelligence, good IT skills
