Job Description:
Are you a passionate and dedicated senior support worker in children's residential services seeking to advance into a Deputy Care Manager role? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Care Manager within a well-established children's residential home in Bridgend. This role offers the chance to support the management team in delivering high-quality care to young people aged 8 to 18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management team in overseeing the daily operations of the children's residential home in Bridgend.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism.
- Assist with the induction and training of new team members, embedding company procedures and culture.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of young people by maintaining and implementing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
- Support young people with daily activities, including family contact, community engagement, and promoting independence and social skills.
- Contribute to the development and review of placement and risk management plans.
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People's Residential Services or equivalent (ESSENTIAL).
- Experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker within a children's residential setting (ESSENTIAL).
- Full UK Driving Licence, as transportation of young people may be required.
- Over the age of 21.
- Willingness to work towards or already hold a Level 5 qualification in Children & Young People's Residential Services.
