Job Description:
Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for supporting children and young people? We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a leading specialist provider of children's residential care. Based in Hinckley, Leicestershire, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care in a safe and nurturing environment, supporting vulnerable young people aged 8–18. This is an exciting opportunity to lead with impact and support the development of resilient, confident individuals within a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Relationship Building: Establish trusting, nurturing relationships to promote independence, resilience, and wellbeing among young people.
- Team Leadership: Lead shifts and supervise staff to ensure outstanding standards of care are maintained.
- Operational Support: Assist the Registered Manager with audits, daily operational duties, and contribute to the smooth running of the home, including assisting with cooking and maintaining cleanliness.
- Collaboration: Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to deliver holistic support tailored to each young person.
- Safety & Compliance: Uphold safeguarding policies, maintain accurate records, and foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment at all times.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Leadership Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care, Children & Young People’s Services, or willingness to work towards it.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential setting.
- At least 1 year’s supervisory or shift-leading experience.
