Deputy Manager – Emotional Wellbeing & Children’s Residential Care

We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager for a leading specialist provider of children’s residential services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home that supports children and young people aged 8 to 18 through short-term placements focused on understanding and addressing their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in leading the care team to deliver the highest standards of support and safeguarding
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing, and personal growth among young people
- Supervise shifts and oversee day-to-day operational duties
- Collaborate with families, social workers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support plans
- Maintain accurate records, complete audits, and contribute to the smooth running of the home
- Promote a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all young people
- Assist with domestic and administrative tasks ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
- Uphold safeguarding policies, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance (OFSTED standards)
- Lead by example, fostering a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services or willingness to work towards
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory or shift-leading experience in a children’s residential setting
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED regulations and quality standards with a focus on achieving and maintaining “Outstanding” ratings
- Experience and expertise in safeguarding, including accurate record-keeping and incident reporting
