Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join a leading specialist provider supporting adults, young people, and children with complex needs across Gloucestershire and the West Midlands. The Deputy Manager role in supported living offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by leading a compassionate, high-quality team committed to person-centred care. If you are passionate about empowering individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or behaviours that challenge, and are ready to step into a leadership position, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the support team to deliver exceptional, person-centred care.
  • Ensure high standards of support and compliance with regulatory requirements, including CQC standards.
  • Coach and mentor staff to foster a culture of care, inclusion, and respect.
  • Work closely with the Manager to develop and implement service improvements.
  • Actively participate in supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and promote independence.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive environment that reflects the organisation’s values.
  • Support the recruitment, training, and development of team members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Deputy Manager or in a similar leadership role within a regulated setting.
  • Proven track record of leading teams to deliver outstanding support for people with complex needs.
  • Strong commitment to person-centred support, dignity, and respect.
  • Hands-on, approachable leadership style with the ability to motivate others.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it (Level 3 with ambition).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
  • Reliable, flexible, and positive attitude.

Why Join Us:
Our client doesn't just invest in the people they support – they will invest in you. They’re committed to recognising your strengths and helping you grow in areas you’re passionate about, so you can thrive both personally and professionally.

They offer:

  • Leadership development through coaching and fully funded training.
  • Opportunities for career growth within a forward-thinking organisation.
  • A positive workplace culture rooted in care, empathy, and empowerment.
  • Salary up to £36,000 per year.
  • Parking permit for Gloucestershire.
  • Paid induction, shadow shifts, and specialist face-to-face training.
  • Fully funded Enhanced DBS check.
  • Flexibility with regular hours and on-call responsibilities.
  • Recognition schemes, discounts, and employee benefits.

Why This Role Matters:
You will be joining at a pivotal moment where the foundations are being set for future growth. This is a rare opportunity to influence organisational direction, develop new services, and create a lasting impact across multiple settings. If you want to grow with a values-driven organisation and make a real difference, we want to hear from you.

Chris at Vetro has been incredible.

I applied for a role I'd never done before, and not only did he help with my application process, but once I was offered an interview, he spent time ensuring I was sufficiently prepared. He has also made an once-a-week update meeting available to check on my onboarding process. If you're looking for work and support, I'd highly recommend Vetro Recruitment.
