Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our children’s residential home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and young people aged 8–18, within a supportive and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure high standards of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Deputy Manager based in Hinckley, your daily duties will include:

  • Building trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing, and resilience among young people.
  • Leading shifts and supervising staff to maintain high standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Supporting the Registered Manager with audits, compliance, and operational duties.
  • Contributing to the daily running of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to protect children and young people.
  • Promoting an inclusive, welcoming environment that supports the diverse needs of young people.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Deputy Manager in Hinckley, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or a willingness to work towards it.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with at least 1 year of supervisory and shift-leading experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards, with the ability to support the home in achieving an “Outstanding” rating.
  • Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people.
