The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a creative and safety-conscious Design Technology Teacher for secondary schools in the Swansea area. We are looking for specialists who can inspire students in the workshop and classroom, delivering engaging lessons in Product Design, Resistant Materials, and/or Engineering.
We have opportunities for:

Key Stage 3 & 4: Delivering core DT projects and GCSE coursework.

Key Stage 5: Supporting A-Level students with complex design projects (desirable).

Vocational: Teaching BTEC Engineering or Construction (where applicable).
Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that balance theory with practical skills.

Workshop Safety: Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines (DATA) are strictly adhered to during practical sessions.

Practical Instruction: Demonstrate the safe use of hand tools, machinery (lathes, drills, sanders), and CAD/CAM equipment (Laser Cutters, 3D Printers).

Assessment: Monitor student progress, marking coursework and practical projects in line with exam board specifications.

Resource Management: Assist technicians with the maintenance of equipment and stock control of materials.
Requirements

Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Design Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Certifications: DATA (Design and Technology Association) Health & Safety accreditation is highly desirable.

Experience: Experience teaching Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Product Design within the UK curriculum.

Registration: Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a School Teacher.

Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Vetro can assist with a new application if required).
