Vetro Education is seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Design and Technology Teacher who specialises in engineering to work in a Secondary Secondary school in Rhondda Cynon Taf. 

The successful teacher will be teaching leaners in Key Stage 3 and Key stage 4 and will be responsible for the marking, planning and delivery of Design Technology as well as providing occasional general cover where required.

This is a full time role which will run from May 2025 until the end of the academic year in the first instance.

  • Hours: - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm  (3pm finish on Friday)

The role: What you’ll be doing as Design and Technology Teacher  

  • Lead a classroom of learners in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and plan work
  • Deliver lessons in line with national curriculum
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out of classroom activities
  • Work in accordance to the school’s behaviour management policies

 
The candidate: What you’ll need to be successful as  Design and Technology Teacher   

  • At least 1 year teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs)
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • Experience and confidence working with SEMH, SEBD and challenging behaviour
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
