Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse, is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Housing Advice and Assistance Support Worker to join their team in Newport. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by providing vital advice, safety planning, and support to those at risk of homelessness due to domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Domestic Abuse Housing Advice and Assistance Support Worker based in Newport, your daily duties will include:

• Working in partnership with the Newport housing team to identify and support individuals at risk of homelessness due to domestic abuse.
• Providing immediate safety advice, risk assessments, and safety planning in line with organisational policies.
• Liaising with landlords, refuge providers, and multi-agency partners to secure safe, appropriate accommodation options.
• Supporting individuals to make informed decisions about their housing and safety needs.
• Conducting assessments of home security and utilising target hardening measures in collaboration with relevant agencies.
• Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring all notes are completed in accordance with organisational policies.
• Participating in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training to support personal and professional development.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Domestic Abuse Housing Advice and Assistance Support Worker, you will need:

• At least 2 years' experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse.
• Knowledge of housing-related services and wider VAWDASV risks.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency setting while maintaining organisational ethos.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work swiftly in crisis situations.
• Experience using database systems for case management.
• Understanding of trauma and working within a psychologically informed environment.
• A professional attitude with strong boundaries and a commitment to safeguarding.
