Job Description:
Our client, a leading organisation in domestic abuse support services, is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join their team in Monmouthshire, Wales. This role involves providing vital support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, helping them maintain safe and stable tenancies within the community.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker based in Monmouthshire, your daily duties will include:

  • Supporting families affected by domestic abuse across Monmouthshire, assisting with tenancy management and safety planning.
  • Conducting needs and risk assessments, including safety planning and DASH risk indicators, in line with organisational policies.
  • Collaborating within a multi-agency hub, liaising with partners such as social services, police, housing providers, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
  • Supporting families to access alternative accommodation and ensuring safeguarding measures are in place.
  • Maintaining accurate case notes and monitoring service user progress using electronic case management systems.
  • Participating in on-call duties, providing emergency support and advice outside of standard hours.
  • Promoting community engagement and building informal support networks for families.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will need:

  • Experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse or in a support role involving safeguarding.
  • Level 2 qualification in domestic violence or equivalent, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and social legislation is desirable.
  • Willingness to learn new systems such as Pan Connect or Locata.
