Our client, a leading support organisation, is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Support Worker to join their team in Monmouthshire. Based at the Multi Agency Centre in Abergavenny, this role involves providing vital support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, helping them maintain their tenancies and rebuild their lives. The position offers a dynamic work environment within a multi-agency framework, with opportunities for remote working and flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker in Abergavenny??????, Monmouthshire, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting families affected by domestic abuse across Abergavenny,??Monmouthshire, who are struggling to sustain their tenancies.
- Conducting needs assessments and risk assessments, including Safelives DASH risk indicators and safety planning.
- Collaborating within a multi-agency hub, liaising with partners such as social services, police, housing providers, and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Delivering tailored support to families, ensuring actions are taken to prevent tenancy breakdowns.
- Supporting families to access alternative accommodation and improve home security through liaison with Target Hardening Schemes and housing providers.
- Maintaining accurate case notes and monitoring service user progress using electronic database systems.
- Participating in on-call duties, providing out-of-hours support and advice to colleagues and service users.
- Promoting community engagement and building informal support networks for families.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will need:
- Experience of working with individuals who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.
- Knowledge of support and safety planning in partnership with service users.
- Experience of partnership working with statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work constructively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS check clearance.
