The Opportunity

We are actively recruiting for a charismatic and energetic Drama Teacher to join secondary schools in the Swansea area. We are looking for an educator who can build confidence in students, foster creativity, and manage a dynamic studio environment.

We have opportunities for:

  • Key Stage 3: Introduction to drama techniques, voice, movement, and script reading.

  • Key Stage 5: Teaching advanced practitioners (e.g., Brecht, Stanislavski, Artaud) and theatre analysis (desirable).

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons that meet the Curriculum for Wales requirements.

  • Performance Support: Guide students through the creative process of devising drama and preparing for practical exams.

  • Studio Management: Manage behavior effectively in an active studio setting to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.

  • Assessment: Mark written coursework and provide verbal/written feedback on practical performances.

  • Extra-Curricular: Assist with or lead school productions, rehearsals, and drama clubs (highly desirable for long-term roles).

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Drama, Performing Arts, or Theatre Studies.

  • Experience: Experience teaching Drama within the UK curriculum up to KS4 (KS5 is advantageous).

  • Registration: Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) as a School Teacher.

  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Vetro can assist with a new application if required).

  • Personality: A passion for the arts and the ability to inspire reluctant learners.

Benefits of Working with Vetro

  • Competitive Pay: Weekly pay via PAYE with no payroll or umbrella company charges.

  • Flexibility: Manage your work-life balance through our dedicated Vetro Mobile App.

  • Professional Development: Access to free accredited CPD training and Safeguarding courses.

  • Support: A dedicated consultant with local knowledge of Swansea schools.

  • Incentives: Entry into our "Golden Ticket" prize draw for all working staff.
