Job Title: Design & Technology Teacher
Location: Rhondda, Wales
Salary: £173 per day (DOE)
Job Description:
Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join a secondary school in the Rhondda area.The successful D&T Teacher will play a vital role in inspiring students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Sixth Form, delivering engaging lessons and supporting learners to achieve their full potential. This full-time, long-term position offers a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a classroom of learners across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Sixth Form.
- Prepare classrooms and plan schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum.
- Deliver engaging lessons in Design & Technology, including lab-based activities.
- Manage behaviour in accordance with school policies.
- Mark work, prepare for parents' evenings, and participate in school events.
- Utilise weekly PPA time for planning and preparation.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of D&T teaching experience (exceptions for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Be registered as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Provide references covering the last two years with no gaps.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
