Job Title: Dual Registered Manager (Children’s Homes)

Job Description:
As a Dual Registered Manager in a children’s home setting, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and compliance of two homes, ensuring children receive safe, consistent, and high-quality care. This Dual Registered Manager role is based in TBC and reports to the Responsible Individual / Operations Director. You will help deliver planned and emergency placements while embedding the home’s ethos and practice model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the management, co-ordination, and development of quality services for children across both homes as a Dual Registered Manager in TBC
- Ensure children are safeguarded at all times and that safeguarding practice is embedded throughout the team
- Uphold Quality Care Standards and ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 as the Dual Registered Manager for both homes in TBC
- Promote partnership working with children, families, staff, and relevant agencies to meet individual needs
- Maintain high standards of emotional and physical care, including appropriate activities and comfortable accommodation in line with home procedures and strategies
- Provide effective leadership by implementing organisational strategies and delivering agreed objectives as Dual Registered Manager in TBC
- Support staff development through supervision, appraisal, induction, and ongoing training and development plans
- Manage resources effectively, including participation in an out-of-hours On-Call rota, to ensure sufficient back-up in emergencies
- Ensure effective communication systems and a full flow of information into and out of the team
- Contribute to corporate policy and service initiatives aimed at improving outcomes for children
- Manage budgets and ensure targets and objectives are set, reviewed, and achieved
Requirements:
- Experience in a children’s home environment with the ability to lead two homes as a Dual Registered Manager in TBC
- Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the obligations of a Registered Manager
- Demonstrable commitment to safeguarding, professional conduct, and high expectations for staff
- Ability to embed and develop the home’s practice model (PACE / DDP) and maintain consistent standards
- Proven leadership skills, including staff motivation, development, and effective team working
- Experience supporting recruitment and participating in HR processes (e.g., grievance, disciplinary) with appropriate oversight
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships and achieve positive outcomes
