Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee two children’s homes located on the Wiltshire / Somerset border. This pivotal role involves managing all aspects of the homes’ operations, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Manager based in Wiltshire / Somerset, your daily duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of two children’s homes, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Leading and developing a team to deliver high-quality care aligned with organisational policies and ethos.
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are rigorously followed to protect all children in placement.
- Promoting a positive, supportive environment that fosters emotional and physical well-being.
- Building strong partnerships with families, social workers, and external agencies to meet the needs of the children.
- Overseeing staff recruitment, supervision, training, and development to maintain a motivated and skilled team.
- Managing budgets effectively to ensure resources are utilised efficiently.
- Contributing to organisational development initiatives and maintaining up-to-date Statements of Purpose.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Registered Manager in Wiltshire / Somerset, you will need:
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience managing children’s homes or similar settings.
- Strong knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and safeguarding procedures.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
