Job Description:
We are seeking a Dual Registered Manager to oversee two brand-new, luxury children’s homes in Great Barr and Handsworth Wood, Birmingham. These high-end homes are designed to provide an exceptional environment for children in our care, featuring modern amenities and therapeutic spaces. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead a flagship service from the ground up, supported by experienced professionals and a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Dual Registered Manager based in Birmingham, your daily duties will include:
- Providing strategic leadership and operational management for two luxury children’s homes in Great Barr and Handsworth Wood.
- Building and developing a dedicated team, including Deputy Managers, Senior Support Workers, and Residential Support Workers.
- Ensuring the homes operate in compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and quality standards.
- Overseeing the implementation of the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) therapeutic model to promote child-centred care.
- Leading on safeguarding, care planning, and behaviour management strategies tailored to children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and presentation within the homes.
- Supporting children’s emotional, physical, and educational development, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Managing budgets, resources, and staff rotas efficiently.
- Building effective relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, social workers, and health professionals.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Dual Registered Manager, you will need:
- NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy in a children’s residential setting.
- Proven experience working with children with EBD, trauma, and complex behaviours.
- In-depth knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted inspection framework.
- A clear enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving licence.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including participating in the on-call rota.
Desirable:
- Therapeutic training or experience in trauma-informed care.
- Experience achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted ratings.
- Supporting children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or mental health issues.
