Dual Registered Manager – Luxury Children's Homes

Location: Great Barr & Handsworth Wood (B20 / B43)

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + Performance Bonus

Start Date: May / June 2026 (Ideal for candidates with a 3-month notice period)

Ofsted Status: New Commission (Registration in progress)

Are you a high-performing Deputy Manager ready for your first Registered Manager post, or an experienced RM looking to lead a flagship service?

We are seeking a Dual Registered Manager to oversee two brand-new, luxury 2-bed children’s homes in North Birmingham. These homes are being developed to an extraordinary standard—featuring games rooms, dual living spaces, and high-end finishes—designed to provide the very best environment for the children in our care.

Under the mentorship of a fantastic RI - a former local authority troubleshooter and specialist in service transformation—you will be supported by a leader who values high standards, child-centred practice, and the well-being of his staff.

The Role & Structure

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee two 2-bed homes located just one minute apart, ensuring a seamless management approach across the B20 and B43 postcodes.

  • Team Build: You will have a dedicated Deputy Manager across the services, supported by Seniors and RSWs in each individual home.

  • Therapeutic Model: We lead with the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) model, ensuring a therapeutic heart is at the centre of everything we do.

  • Autonomy: This is a rare opportunity to "put your stamp" on a new service from the ground up, with planning permission already secured for the first home.

What We Are Looking For

  • The Right Move: We are specifically looking for candidates with a long notice period (ideally 3 months). We do not want an immediate start; we want the right person.

  • Experience: Either an experienced Registered Manager with a proven track record of "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted ratings, or a highly experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up.

  • Values: You must be passionate, child-centered, and committed to maintaining the "luxurious" standards of these homes.

  • Expertise: Familiarity with the PACE model and a deep understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

The Package & Perks

  • Salary: A highly competitive base of up to £65,000.

  • Performance Bonus: Rewarding your success in registration and Ofsted outcomes.

  • Work-Life Balance: The organisation respects personal lives and offers a high degree of flexibility.

  • On-Call: Shared on-call between the Manager and Deputy, with the RI providing second-tier safeguarding support.

  • Growth: Significant personal development opportunities

Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Proven history of ensuring high standards and regulatory compliance.

Interviews are taking place now for a May/June 2026 commencement.

Her support made a real difference, and we truly appreciated her efforts.

We were initially contacted directly by Kerry from Vetro regarding a potential Registered Home Manager she was working with. I spoke with Kerry to discuss the role, our requirements, and the candidate she had in mind.

Highly recommend Vetro...would never consider another agency and that is down to Kerry.

I have previously worked with Kerry, and after letting her know I was looking for work again, it took her less than 2 days to come back with what I asked for. Not only that, she made sure I was prepared for the interview and checked in before and after, she did go above and beyond like previous, with a personal touch.

Honestly, you've been amazing.

You don't just get the roles we need, you get me, how I work, what kind of personalities click with me, and who's going to fit in with our wider team. That makes such a difference, especially at senior level.

Kerry was very friendly and easy to talk too.

I found her approach was very confidential and she respected my privacy of when to contact me and when I wouldn't be available. I appreciated her honest and transparent approach when applying for jobs in giving recommendations, and felt she remained professional at all times.
