Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to join a college in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students and support their academic progress in GCSE English. The role offers flexible part-time hours, an immediate start, and the chance to make a positive impact on students’ futures until the end of the summer term 2026. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a classroom of GCSE learners, fostering a positive and productive environment
  • Prepare lesson plans and schemes of work aligned with the national curriculum
  • Deliver engaging lessons in both classroom and lab-based settings
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies in accordance with school policies
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions may apply for NQTs)
  • Hold a Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – support available to assist with registration
  • Valid references covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
