Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to join a secondary school in Caerphilly, Wales. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive environment, making a positive impact on students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE classes. The position is part-time with an immediate start and is expected to run until the end of the summer term 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
As an English Teacher based in Caerphilly, your daily duties will include:
- Leading engaging lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, including GCSE classes.
- Preparing classrooms and planning schemes of work where necessary.
- Delivering lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Using a variety of teaching methods to engage learners through classroom and lab-based activities.
- Managing behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies.
- Supporting learners to achieve their full potential through effective teaching and encouragement.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as an English Teacher, you will need:
- At least 1 year of teaching experience (exceptions may apply for NQTs).
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent.
- Registration as a Teacher with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – assistance available.
- References covering the last two years (no gaps).
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
