Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring and passionate Home Manager to lead a new care leavers service in Wrexham. This role is ideal for experienced leaders who have managed or served as a deputy manager in a similar setting, and who are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care for young people aged 16 to 18. As a Home Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the service, supporting professional development, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional standards of care. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a clear career progression path within a supportive organisation that values internal talent and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and strategic direction to the care team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care.
- Oversee all operational aspects of the home, including staffing, compliance, and health and safety.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and empowerment, ensuring compassionate and empathetic care.
- Conduct regular reviews of residents’ needs and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure the home operates in compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
- Keep up-to-date with developments in care practices, legislation, and regulations affecting mental health and social care.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 5 or Diploma in Health and Social Care Management.
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a care leavers setting, with a strong understanding of the associated challenges.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in mental health and social care.
- Compassionate, person-centred approach to care.
- Experience with care management systems and Microsoft Office.
- At least two years’ experience working in children’s residential care.
